Big Changes for 2014 Relay For Life Daviess County

Relay For Life Daviess County is getting a huge makeover this year.  The event, which is set for Friday, May 16th is moving from Diamond Lake Campground and Resort, for the first time in four years.  This year's event will take place at College View Middle School and organizers are hard at work to revamp Relay and they're encouraging you to form a team and join us at this important all-nighter!  Cancer never sleeps . . . and, for one night, we won't either.

Owensboro’s Roger Hayden Auctioning Boots To Benefit Injured 12 Year-Old

Professional motorcycle racer Roger Hayden, Owensboro native, is auctioning off a pair of his race boots for a 12 year-old boy recently injured in a race. Gage Beland of Lake Odessa, Michigan was in a bad crash on March 10th while racing the Volusia, Florida flat track, the same track the Pros raced on the day before.

Benefit Ride for the Children’s Advocacy of the Green River District

The second annual benefit motorcycle ride for the Children's Advocacy of the Green River District is Saturday, April 19th. The CAC serves children in seven counties including Daviess, McLean, Hancock, Henderson, Ohio, Union and Webster.

The ride will begin at the Owensboro campus of Western Kentucky University. Registration begins at 10:00am and all bikes will be out at Noon.

Royal Racing's new 84 car is dedicated to Epilepsy Awareness and you can see that car THIS Friday, April 4th at Fischer's Keystop on Hwy 60 East here in Owensboro.  And there will also be a very special guest on hand for meet and greets and photo opps.  Yep!  Marty Brown is in town!

Kayla Burgess Performs Disney Song at Color Blast 5K [Video]

The Owensboro Color Blast 5K is in the books.  Over 3,000 people turned out to support six different local agencies supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities.  As usual, the day was amazing.  There were color blasts along the race route.  There was a HUGE after-party with color flying through the air and onto our clothes.  And there were very emotional and moving performances on the stage.  For me, Kayla Burgess stole the show.  Watch this video.  This gal had the crowd, Jaclyn and me in tears.

Beauty Pageant Fundraiser for Watson Family Saturday in Muhlenberg County

Its called Hearts & Halos and the event is coming up Saturday afternoon at the Merle Travis Center in Powderly.  It's a beauty pageant fundraiser for the Watson Family, victims of the tragic and fatal Muhlenberg County house fire that occurred back in January.  There are all sorts of age divisions and prizes to be won.  For full registration details, keep reading!
