Green Bay Packer Cuts Hair For Charity
March 4, 2012 Green Bay Packer, A.J. Hawk has decided to lose his trademark locks. He originally grew his hair long in 2005 as a tribute to the late Pat Tillman, the former NFL player who lost his life with the U.S. Army while serving in Afghanistan. Not only has he cut his hair to help children with cancer, but he has started his own charity.

February 24, 2012 It was a simple phone call to inform my mom that the Louisville/Cincinnati basketball game was on ESPN--she graduated from U of L in 1954. Just a simple phone call. Then the gears started turning, connections were made, and my mother suddenly remembered an amazing story from her time spent at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in 1952 as part of her training curriculum. Jaclyn’s Studio Session of St. Jude Song “Dreamer”
February 23, 2012 Each year, for our St. Jude Radiothon, I write original music to honor the hospital and its patients and patients families. This year's song is called "Dreamer" and is inspired by the story of Jeanna Dreamer and her young daughter, Ella, who is fighting a rare form of cancer that has resurfaced after a glorious six months in which Ella was cancer-free. A couple of weeks ago, Jaclyn recorded the song at Gray Sky Music (with the help of our good buddy, Matt Gray) and we shot some footage! Here's Jaclyn's studio session of "Dreamer!"

The WBKR St. Jude Radiothon Is Happening Tomorrow and Friday

I'm going to get one of those metallic paper towel holder thingies, stack a few rolls of t.p., and get ready to raise some money. February 22, 2012 Trust me on this. You haven't lived until you've eaten food from Jerry Morris' cooking team. And his team, Angels for Ashley, will be cooking this Thursday and Friday in front of Shoe Stop at Towne Square North! Make sure you stop by and pick up some of Jerry's famous Boston butt, ribs and barbecued chickens. Angels for Ashley will be on hand bright and early in the morning through the early evening . . . and they'll be serving up the good eatin' until it's gone. WBKR Takes the Polar Bear Plunge [Video]
February 20, 2012 The Polar Bear Plunge was Saturday morning at The Hines Center in Philpot. And, for the second consecutive year, record crowds and participants turned out to raise money for and support Special Olympics Kentucky! 233 plungers walked the plank at the Hines Center lake and plunged into the chilly waters and, in doing so, they raised $55,000 . . . an all-time record for Owensboro's event. As you know, Jaclyn and I encouraged listeners (and a couple of fellow deejays) to join us in the effort. And, yep!! We've got video!!
