OPD Chief Announces Retirement

Colonel Glenn W. Skeens, Chief of the Owensboro Police Department, has announced his retirement effective September 1, 2012. Colonel Skeens began his law enforcement career with the Owensboro Police Department in 1989. He has served in key leadership positions within the department for 12 years. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2000, followed by Deputy Chief in 2002. Skeens served as Deputy Chief until his appointment to Chief in 2007.

The City of Owensboro recently announced that Bridge Day is returning! Last year to celebrate the re-opening of the Blue Bridge, people were invited to walk or bike across the bridge and it was so exciting!
