Championship Wrestling Association Stars Reunite at PopCon in Evansville [Photos]

Who knows what that is?  Yep!  Channel 7 Evansville.  Every Saturday morning.  The Championship Wrestling Association!  The image we all saw as the opening credits rolled each week.  And who knew, that some 30+ years later, some of the ring's biggest stars would reunite in Evansville at PopCon.  Check this out.  These guys are going to bring back a ton of memories!

First of all, who remembers the CWA theme song?  I had a hunch I could probably round it up on YouTube and I found it.

And some of the legends in that video, including famed announcer Lance Russell, were in Evansville this weekend sharing stories, laughs and tales from the ring.  Check out this photo and see if you recognize these guys . . .

From left to right . . . Handsome Jimmy Valiant, the Superstar Bill Dundee, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and Lance Russell.  That's freaking awesome!  I will say, though, I was a huge fan of Tojo Yamamoto (even though he always wrestled dirty and try to blind people with powder and beat them with sticks).  By the way, Tojo Yamamoto passed away in February of 1992.

If you grew up watching the CWA, check out this highlights reel.  Lance Russell and his co-host, Dave Brown, sat down a few years ago to relive some of the association's greatest moments.  This is GREAT!
