Just this past weekend as my co-host Chad and I were returning from St. Jude Country Cares Seminar with the awesome Ryan O'Bryan from WKDQ as our chauffeur, Chicago came on our sister station 105.3 WJLT. With a "Yes!" in unison, we jammed down the road.

It's wild to think about how many decades Chicago has graced radio waves since the late 1960s with hit after hit like You're the Inspiration, If You Leave Me Now, Saturday in the Park and SO many more. Their new EP Summer in Chicago, released this past June revisits one of my favorites, Street Player. Those harmonies! They're making new music too. Here is the music video for one of the songs off their 2022 album Born For This Moment:

Iconic Classic Rock Band Chicago Still Touring

The Grammy Award winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are still going strong. According to their website, their "record sales top the 100,000,000 mark, and include 21 Top 10 singles, 5 consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles and 5 Gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 38 albums have been certified platinum, and the band has a total of 48 gold and platinum awards"  Just WOW!

Can you believe they have been touring for 56 consecutive years? That is absolutely incredible. They'll be taking their signature sound to the bright lights of Las Vegas with a residency at The Venetian Theater at the beginning of 2024.

When is Chicago Performing in Kentucky?

But you don't have to go all the way to Vegas to hear the horns and see them perform your favorite classic rock tunes. Chicago is set to grace the stage right here in the tri-state at the Owensboro Sportscenter! Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 7:30 PM.

Kudos to the team booking shows there because they have had some amazing performers on the schedule this past year with Gary Allen and Justin Moore.  In November, Jack Harlow is set to entertain a near-sold-out crowd for his No Place Like Home Kentucky tour.

There is no doubt in my mind that every seat will be filled for Chicago too! At least until they start playing. It will be hard to resist getting out of that seat and dancing along.
