Contemporary Christian musician and worship leader Todd Ballard will team with The Potter's Wheel Ministries for a benefit concert this Friday in Newburgh. Complete details can be found in the following press release:

Celebrated worship leader Todd Ballard and The Potter’s Wheel Ministries, an inner-city outreach in Evansville, Ind., team up for a benefit concert to be held Friday, May 3, at First Christian Church in Newburgh, Ind. A free event, all donations will benefit the ministry’s efforts to provide for the spiritual, physical, emotional, and educational needs of those in inner-city Evansville.

A native of Henderson, Ky., just 12 miles from Evansville, Ballard knows first-hand The Potter’s Wheel’s impact. Currently one of the fastest-growing ministries in the tri-city area, the non-profit was founded by Ballard’s father, Mike Ballard, nearly 10 years ago. What began as a single “Adopt-A- Block” program has since expanded to include eight areas of service from General Educational Development classes to “Baby Basics,” which teaches parenting skills, to literacy program “ROAR” (Reach Out and Read), and Epic 1:3 for at-risk youth. The organization also offers a  food bank, clothing bank and soup kitchen.

“The Potter’s Wheel was once nothing more than a dream to help our fellow man, a dream that we can make a change even in the roughest of areas by showing love,” says Todd Ballard. “That’s exactly what The Potter’s Wheel is and breathes ... love, love for the person that needs it ever so desperately. It’s my absolute honor to play a concert for this amazing ministry. I pray that we not only raise finances for their operations and ministries but also bring awareness to the entire community that love is here in the name of Jesus.”

Todd Ballard, who recently released his national debut Anthems to widespread acclaim, will perform selections from the new album as well as worship standards. Mike Ballard comments, “What an exciting chapter in the life of The Potter’s Wheel. After ten years of existence, and the many struggles we have had to keep the doors open, something big is taking place. I’m so thrilled that Todd and I are working together to help those that are in poverty or on low income and struggling. Please come worship with us on May 3.”

First Christian Church is located at 4544 Old State Rd. 261 in Newburgh. The show will begin promptly at 7:00 pm. For more information, visit: www.toddballard.com<http://www.toddballard.com>.

Todd Ballard

Veteran worship leader Todd Ballard has been ushering audiences into the presence of God for nearly 18 years. A founding pastor at one of the country’s fastest growing congregations--Red Rocks Church in Golden, Colo.--Ballard recently left his position to pursue music full-time.

Ballard’s first national release, Anthems (2/5/13), comprises 13 epic songs which Ballard describes as “anthems from the heart...each song is an anthem of the way I love God.” The album also reflects his unique ability to connect with the worshipper’s heart.

The record’s liner notes read like a “who’s who” of industry talent with contributions by producer Otto Price (tobyMac, BarlowGirl); mix engineer Ainslie Grosser (Matt Redman’s “10,000 Reasons,” Laura Story’s “Blessings”); Brad Blackwood (Maroon 5, Alison Krauss & Union Station), who mastered the record; guitarist/cellist Brent Kutzle of OneRepublic on select tracks; and legendary producer DJ Frank E (Flo Rida, B.o.B, Justin Bieber) adding some underlying beats to “Closer to Me.”

The project debuted at No. 8 on the SoundScan Praise & Worship/Choral chart, while garnering the attention of several major national media outlets, including Worship Leader and CCM Magazine.

The Potter’s Wheel

The Potter’s Wheel is an inner-city ministry in Evansville, Indiana. Blessed with generous donors, willing volunteers and strong leadership, The Potter’s Wheel Ministries is winning souls for Christ and changing lives among inner-city residents. Once a haven for drug activity, prostitution and crime, the neighborhood surrounding The Potter’s Wheel is undergoing a major transformation and is becoming a quieter and safer environment for families and children.

However, inner-city Evansville is still plagued by a cycle of generational poverty that includes low literacy rates, limited access to educational opportunities, low educational attainment rates and limited access to jobs that pay a living wage. The Potter’s Wheel Ministries is making an impact by offering many services for its low income neighbors and has developed into a very effective ministry in Southwestern Indiana and adjacent Kentucky and Illinois.
