Sad news arrived this morning as we learned that one of country music's all-time greats, Glen Campbell, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. His new album will be released in August and it will be his final recording. Glen is also planning a farewell tour and wanted the news out there so fans wouldn't wonder about unusual behavior they might witness on the stage.

When I learned the news and Glen's age--75 years old--I just kept thinking how weird that was because he has always seemed like a young guy to me. I guess it's that type of attitude that gives us the old saying, "You're only as old as you feel." And that suits Glen to a tee. I've never seen him when his big personality wasn't front and center. And it was that personality that made his TV variety series in the late 60s and early 70s such a big hit. Speaking of big hits, Glen loaded up the country, pop, and adult contemporary charts with his fair share for three decades. I would imagine we'll be hearing more and more of these songs over the next few years as we track Glen's progress, send him our prayers, and wish he and his family all the best.
