Days away though we may be from the 2013 'Doctor Who' Christmas special "The Time of the Doctor" and Matt Smith's ultimate departure from the title role, there's no reason not to soak up all our time left with the Doctor! The latest clip from the landmark special sees the 11th incarnation roped into playing house with Clara, plus, find out what Steven Moffat has to say of 'Doctor Who''s grand 2013 exit!

The latest clip from "The Time of the Doctor" sees Clara desperately contacting the Time Lord after promising her family a Christmas dinner appearance from her boyfriend, though the Doctor seems plenty preoccupied otherwise with a new mystery, and a dismembered Cyberman head! Meanwhile, in addition to the clip, the BBC has unveiled a new interview with showrunner Steven Moffat about the dark, yet Christmas-y tone to the special.

Says The BBC’s official description of the special:

Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars – and amongst them, the Doctor.

Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.

Additional reports claim that the special will answer a number of continuity mysteries from Matt Smith’s tenure, among them the true regeneration numbering that became complicated both by John Hurt‘s portrayal of “The War Doctor” and a regeneration used up during David Tennant‘s run.

We're just about there, so prepare for Matt Smith's big goodbye with the latest clip from "The Time of the Doctor" above, and give us your predictions for Peter Capaldi's arrival in the comments!
