Cherie Oakley on The Voice
nbc.com/the-voice

The Voice continues to impress me.  And now, one contestant not only has local ties, but she also has ties to one of the mentors viewers will see beginning next week.  Cherie Oakley has been a back-up singer for Gretchen Wilson, Carrie Underwood, and Reba McEntire.  In fact, Oakley co-wrote Reba’s recent number one hit, “Turn on the Radio”; I couldn’t believe it when she said it.  And I was really excited when Oakley’s bio said she’s indeed from Evansville! Let’s hope she goes far! Another contestant, Angela Wolf, also tackled a Miranda Lambert song (“The House That Built Me”)….I guess it’s just easier to pander to the good-looking, yet ENGAGED country star.
