How many times do you see a fundraiser, non-profit organization or someone in need and think... "Someone should help them"? Well, here at WBKR, we think "It's Time" for us to help... All of us. We have such an amazing Tri-State community and we know that you can and will help out good causes right here. We will be focusing on several non-profits and local businesses thru the year and we'll be asking for YOUR help. We could be cleaning up a cemetery or running a blood drive, you just never know, but we will helping.

Our first project with It's Timeis Tuesd

ay, September 30th and we'll be serving lunch at the Daniel Pitino Shelter. Now, here's where YOUR help comes in...

The Pitino Shelter's purpose is to assist the homeless in the transition to permanent housing. They also house the Saint Stephen Cathedral soup kitchen and the McAuley Clinic. I asked the shelter what some of their needs are, so that y'all can help out. Here's the list of items needed that I was given:

- Canned goods

- Feminine hygiene products

- Shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc.

- Hats, gloves, scarves (adults and children sizes)

WBKR will be on hand beginning at 9am and I'll broadcast my Midday Show there, as well. Although we won't need any help serving lunch, we would LOVE for you to drop off any items on this list that you can. We'll have someone from the station parked outside by the WBKR truck. You can just drive by and they will get your goods from you. Think about how much we can help out the Pitino Shelter if we just take a little time and a little money and work together. It's Time... don't you think?

The Pitino Shelter is located at 501 Walnut Street in Owensboro.
