This is one of the craziest things that has ever happened to me, but I forgot all about it. Okay, I'm going to try and nutshell this story about the time I sat by Jamey Johnson. To be fair he wasn't the Jamey Johnson we all know now.

By the way, I saw two of my very best friends for the first time in months over the weekend, and they rocked my world with this revelation! A Jamey Johnson song came on in the car and my friend Summer said, "don't you remember you sat by him?!?"

Excuse me? Here's what happened. About 12 years ago, I went with my friends to Bowling Green to see Little Texas drummer Del Gray's then side band, the Devilles, sorry Brett. Here's what I do remember about that night. It was in a club, but the club was well lit and it felt more like a performance space, and the tables we sat at were round. In fact, it was more like a dimly lit banquet hall. The stage, which was pretty big, was in the corner. To confuse things, the Devilles' lead singer's name was Jamie, standard spelling. I do remember him, he had glasses.

I asked my other friend Jennifer, who was there, just who exactly was there. This is getting comical I know. Johnson was there with Shannon Lawson, who you may or may not remember for this awesome song that should have been a hit...

You see, Shannon and Del are friends, they've written songs together, but I still don't know the connection to Jamey. From what I gather, he was just hanging out; nothing wrong with that. And I probably had at least two adult beverages.

The moral of the story: Talk to everyone at the table, even if you think you'll never see any of them again. One of them might become a big star. Lesson learned.

And...you may not get to sit by Jamey Johnson, but you'll get to see him live at the Old National Events Plaza in Evansville on Saturday, May 30th...come back to wbkr.com Wednesday morning to get the exclusive presale code!!!
