Lost Cargo has been transformed into DOTs, a faith-based store that helps area non-profits and charity organizations. They make an impact on the community every day. How does it work, and who does it help? We have all the answers.

I had the chance to stop into DOTs in Owensboro over the weekend to find out how it works. I'm so glad that I did! Their objective is simple, through prayer to make a difference in the lives of Owensboro and Evansville residents. That's how DOTs (Devine Opportunities Together Serving) came to be. Every week, DOTs picks a local charity to benefit. All DOTs donated during that week goes directly to the non-profit. They can then turn those DOTs in for essential items like clothing, cleaning supplies, toys, hygiene products, non-perishable food items, and more. If you have a servant's heart there are many ways that you can help. You can earn DOTs for your favorite charity by volunteering in the store. You can donate your leftover DOTs and help people in need.

At Christmas Wish, we understand the value of community support, and we're grateful for a chance to help more children through this organization. Christmas Wish is signed up as a non-profit at DOTs if you want to donate your time on our behalf. Here's how the program works!

HOW DOTs WORKS

Do you pay for a membership or is this free? - Andrea Nicole Kessinger

We have FREE membership options that allow you to gather resources to help your community! Kind of like the YMCA, a membership to exercise. Only at DOTs, the membership is to serve and impact others!

How does the Dot system work? - Eli Kassinger

DOTs is a nonprofit resource center that offers essentials like new clothing, food, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products. You can come into the store, sign up as a DOTs shopper and get a certain amount of DOTs to spend depending on what you can afford! Each day you come into the center you have the option of getting 10 DOTs to spend for $10 or 50 DOTs to spend for $50. Each of these packages can get you anywhere from $50 to $500 worth of home supplies!
