Owensboro Symphony Orchestra – Opens with Half-Price Tickets for New Subscribers
Karen Porter, Executive Director of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra visited the WBKR Waking Crew and told us about the 2013-2014 Season which opens September 21 with world-class trumpeter Allen Vizzutti. Karen says if you are a new subscriber you can get tickets at 50% off. She also told me about a very funny video with Maestro Nicholas Palmer.

We open with world-class trumpeter Allen Vizzutti and continue with Puccini’s “La Boheme”, with the Kentucky Opera and our outstanding OSO musicians! Throughout the season you will be treated to a great mix of outstanding masterworks that include Hanson’s Symphony No.2 “Romantic”, Dvorak’s “New World Symphony”, Ravel-La Valse and Debussy-La Mer. We will feature the Kentucky premiere of a new work “Two Brothers” by Jim Stephenson about brothers fighting on opposing sides during the Civil War and a Pops concert with Jeans and Classics presenting the music of Motown in our new Owensboro Convention Center!
