Friday and Saturday are Patriot Days at Yellow Creek Park. Bring the kids to relive what it was like in the old days. It's all at the Pioneer Village.

 The Owensboro Humane Society (OHS) will be hosting their fall open house on Saturday from 11-3 pm at 3101 West Second Street, Owensboro. OHS invites the public to come out to the area's only no-kill facility to see what animals are available, tour the facility, meet volunteers and employees, and see how they can get involved and volunteer with OHS. Owensboro Humane Society will also be accepting donations such as dog and cat food, litter, and cleaning supplies.

 The 22nd annual Fordsville Depot Museum fundraiser, "Fordsville Days", will be held today and tomorrow. Food, fun & festivities! Saturday’s entertainment line-up below!

The Western Ky Botanical Garden will host its annual Scarecrow Festival & Kids' Fun Run on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The kids' run begins at 9 a.m. It will be followed by pumpkin painting, face painting and a "Go Fish" pool. Admission for children and Garden members is free. Adult non-members pay $3. Seniors (65 and older) non-members pay $2. Food is available or bring a picnic. Live bluegrass music.

St. Stephen's Cathedral is having their picnic Saturday at the church on Locust street. It's at 3:00 with lots of food and a live band. And, a cake wheel, too. Big Country store. Come join the fun.

St. Lawrence & St. William Parishes will be hosting an old-fashioned 'Picnic' on Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m.  (All proceeds will go to Mary Carrico Memorial Catholic School) at St. Lawrence Picnic Grounds. There will be Games for the children and Novelty Stand

 The 6th Annual Mary Kendall FUNd Ride is Saturday at Panther Creek Park. Bicycle ride to support the Children of Mary Kendall in Owensboro. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Every registration dollar goes directly to the children. From family friendly route to routes for the most experienced bicyclist. Adults are $25 and Children (15 and under) are $20. Family fun packs are $75 for two adults and two children. Call 270- 993-9099 for info.

Rome Indiana volunteer fire department hog roast is Sunday in the Rome Community Center at10:45 am with the hog roast meal at 11:30. More: country store (baked goods, crafts, canned goods, entertainment Noon - 4 "Country Sunshine" band with Darrell Toomey. Free wagon rides, 23 raffle items, door prizes and concession stands.
