Perry County Paints the Town Gold to Promote Childhood Cancer Awareness
And you though Fort Knox was home to all the nation’s gold? Well, not anymore! In fact, this September, Perry County, Indiana is painting their towns gold and they’re doing it for an amazing and very important reason.
On Tuesday, Sept 3rd, the mayors of Tell City, Cannelton, and the commissioners of Perry County are joining forces to sign proclamations to turn Perry County gold in the month of September. And they’re doing this help create awareness about childhood cancer.
The special kick-off event begins at 4pm in Tell City at the gazebo in front of City Hall. It will feature a special ceremony, face painting for the youngsters and, of course, LOTS of gold ribbons for sale!
This is going to be a very special event and organizers hope everyone in Perry County comes out in force to support the cause and paint the county gold. To get more information, you can check out the special event page on Facebook!
