Check this out!  If you've been wondering what a Color Blast 5K is, we've got you covered.  Check out this official video from the event in Los Angeles so you know what to expect when you sign up to get "Color Blasted" March 23rd in downtown Owensboro!

How fun does that look?  And here's the good news.  You don't have to go to Los Angeles to run it!  You can do it in downtown Owensboro this March!

March is Disability Awareness Month and six local agencies serving that population have teamed up to present Owensboro's inaugural Color Blast 5K: Puzzle Pieces, Wendell Foster’s Campus for Developmental Disabilities, Dream Riders of Kentucky, Team Karlie, Two Rivers Buddy Ball and Green River Area Down Syndrome Association are collaborating together to host a the Color Blast 5K (walk/run) in English Park!  We'll spend the day running, getting "Color Blasted" and honoring individuals who have unique qualities and abilities.

If you watched the video, you have a pretty good idea what to expect.  But here's the lowdown!  Participants wear anything and everything WHITE and along the run/walk route, participants will be “BLASTED” with a safe and non-toxic COLORED POWDER at each mile marker and the finish line. The color fun continues to the After Party for live music, food, crazy fun, and group color showers! Families, schools, church groups, friends, and business groups are encouraged to get involved in this non-competitive 5K event to have fun and support a great cause!

To date . . . 1400+ runners have signed up for the event and the numbers continue to mount.  If you want to join in, click HERE.  But, remember, the Early Bird registration (which guarantees you the $25 entry fee, t-shirt and after-party color packet) is March 8th.  So hurry!  And we'll see you Saturday, March 23rd downtown in FULL COLOR!!
