I've seen plenty of "Don't Feed the Bears" signs out west or in the Smokies. I always think "Don't worry."

And when I was in the Badlands in South Dakota in 2011, I was told by a park official that if I see a rattlesnake (which, alarmingly, was entirely possible), I was not to approach it.

Check.

And, for the record, I also wouldn't remove the pin from a hand grenade and toss it in my backpack.

I'm good with instructions.

But some folks just aren't. And I guess there really ARE those who don't heed warnings about feeding alligators or actually jumping in the water with them.

Oh well.
