If you tuned into WBKR over the weekend, you were likely introduced to our new radio friend, Fern Lulham.  As you learned, Fern is originally from Hastings, England, but came to the United States to study radio broadcasting at Western Carolina University.  She is making her rounds at radio stations around the country and happened to stop in Owensboro during this city's busiest event, The International BBQ Festival.  So, naturally, Jaclyn and I couldn't let Fern leave our fine city without sampling our famous BBQ mutton.  Watch what happened when Fern got to meet our buddy, Jerry Morris and the gang from St. Mary's of the Woods cooking team.

Tomorrow night marks the return of the Lanham Brothers Jamboree, which moves into Diamond Lake's "Good Time" Theatre for another exciting, fun-filled season of shows.  And, to help Randy and Barry Lanham kick off their 2012 season, Jaclyn and I have joined the cast!  This will be the second time each that Jaclyn and I have been a part of the show, but our first appearance together.  Last year, the Lanham Brothers asked me to join them in May and I was happy to.  I threw on some pleather pants and performed "The Evolution of Dance," I threw on a choir robe, recruited Kizzy and the Daviess County High School Choir to join me on "The St. Alphonsus Church Picnic!"  And, believe it or not, I even got a little serious for a change to perform a "Lullaby."  WATCH!

The Lanham Brothers Jamboree is back for another season at Diamond Lake's "Good Time" Theatre.  And, Saturday night, Jaclyn and I will headline the first show of 2012.  Both of us have performed in the show before, but this marks the first time we have starred side by side.  And, you know what that means?!  You just never know what to expect.  That was even true last year . . . when yours truly put on really tight pleather pants and laid out The Evolution of Dance!  WATCH!

Normally, I can't wait to fill out my brackets in our NCAA office pool.  Typically, I am right in the hunt when it comes down to the final weekend.  I have won a couple of grand prizes here at work and have come up JUST short a couple of other times as well.  But, this year, I was on vacation for two weeks and didn't have the chance to fill out my brackets.  So, I thought I would try and redeem myself and share my Sweet 16 predictions.  Now, I'll be honest.  Some of the teams still left in the mix should, well, not still be in the mix.  I would never have predicted some of these folks getting through two rounds in the draw.  But which have the depth, speed and power to advance to the Elite Eight and beyond.  The Final Four?  The National Championship?  Let's take a look into my crystal, inflatable basket balls!

Each year, for our St. Jude Radiothon, I write original music to honor the hospital and its patients and patients families.  This year's song is called "Dreamer" and is inspired by the story of Jeanna Dreamer and her young daughter, Ella, who is fighting a rare form of cancer that has resurfaced after a glorious six months in which Ella was cancer-free.  A couple of weeks ago, Jaclyn recorded the song at Gray Sky Music (with the help of our good buddy, Matt Gray) and we shot some footage!  Here's Jaclyn's studio session of "Dreamer!"

The Polar Bear Plunge was Saturday morning at The Hines Center in Philpot.  And, for the second consecutive year, record crowds and participants turned out to raise money for and support Special Olympics Kentucky!  233 plungers walked the plank at the Hines Center lake and plunged into the chilly waters and, in doing so, they raised $55,000 . . . an all-time record for Owensboro's event.  As you know, Jaclyn and I encouraged listeners (and a couple of fellow deejays) to join us in the effort.  And, yep!!  We've got video!!
