And so I started thinking about the ornaments that have always been a part of my family's holiday traditions. Three of them stand out in my mind.

A few weeks ago I was taught how to dive by my friend, Danny Hinton, who is a divemaster at Blue Meridian Dive Center on Hwy 81 in Owensboro. Last Saturday, I got to exercise my newfound skills at the Center for a charity event called Underwater Monopoly--I'm the one in the white WBKR t-shirt. That's right, I got to pass "Go" and collect $200 several feet under water.

Komen Bowl for the Cure was held in Owensboro Thursday, August 4th and Friday, August 5th and, for the 3rd year in a row, WBKR was the presenting media sponsor for the event.  And, for the 3rd year in a row, the station sent teams to bowlers to Diamond Lanes South in the hopes 92.5 would be well represented in the land of strikes and spares.  Well, it didn't turn out that way!  Y

How often do you get to mark something off your bucket list? Well, last Saturday I got to do just that when I was taught how to scuba dive from Blue Meridian Dive Center divemaster Danny Hinton. I have always wanted to learn, and now I have. And it was just as big a blast as I thought it would be. I highly recommend it.
