Bourbon is a Kentucky staple and this weekend, Owensboro rolls out the red carpet for all kinds of libation happenings. The very first Bourbon & Jazz Festival kicks off tonight during "Friday After Five" with a VIP Cocktail Reception in Woodward's 6p-10p with live music courtesy of Barbara Santora and her band "Jazzin". An after hours mixer will be held at Kentucky's only bourbon bar, Spirits, located in the Miller House at 301 East 5th St. 10p-12a. Owensboro Police are reporting that woman who jumped from the Glover Cary Bridge this morning was conscious at the time of her rescue by the crew of a Yager Materials tug boat.
