Fresh veggie alert! And flowers and meats and baked goods, too. The Owensboro Regional Farmers' Market opens this Saturday, April 20th, at 6:30AM in the parking lot of Owensboro Christian Church on New Hartford Road and will be open until noon.

Nothing screams spring and summer like the Farmers' Market. And who knows what you'll discover? I had never heard of a Crenshaw melon until I went to the gigantic market they have in Cleveland. And I haven't found another one since.

When folks bring in their locally grown vegetables, flowers, meats, and baked goods, stand back, because here comes a crowd. This weekend, vegetable plants, flowers, early produce and more awesome items will be available.

In June, the market will be open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For the first time, the Market will be offering two satellite locations. In June and July, regional vendors will be at New Life Church, 400 Crabtree Avenue, from 9AM to noon on Wednesdays and at Smothers Park downtown 3PM to 6PM on Thursdays.

It's the 30th anniversary of the Owensboro Regional Farmers' Market. And it begins at Owensboro Christian Church this Saturday!
