With the Summer Olympics fast approaching in London in a few months, now is a really bad time for Team USA to start resembling a hospital ward. But that's just about what has happened.

With Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Chauncey Billups down for the count with various injuries, Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski and USA basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo still need to find more replacements, but one they've already chosen will cause the hearts of Big Blue Nation to swell even further with pride.

The projected #1 pick in the NBA draft, Anthony Davis, has been added to the USA's Olympic basketball team. We all know a talent as rare as Davis only comes around once in a generation and that he was already having an extraordinary year. But now he will join some of America's greatest athetes in representing the U.S. this summer in London.

Obviously, we will all be rooting for Team USA, but I gotta be honest. I can't help but wonder if hardcore UK fans will note the irony in their biggest star being led by the man who coaches the team they hate the most, the Duke Blue Devils. Trust me, I know that can't possibly matter in this situation, but I have to wonder. I just have to.
