Before the University of Kentucky Big Blue All-Stars battle Christian Laettner's Villains at Rupp Arena on October 24th, they will play Kentucky Wesleyan. It will be the 'Cats vs. the Panthers this Sunday at the Owensboro Sportscenter. The Big Blue All-Stars--organized by former UK great and 1998 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player Jeff Shepherd--rotates players in and out for the various games. The All-Stars team that will play the Villains team Monday at Rupp includes Rajon Rondo, Keith Bogans, Nazr Mohammed, DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, Jodie Meeks, Tayshaun Prince, Enes Kanter, DeAndre Liggins, Brandon Knight, Chuck Hayes and Josh Harrellson. An alternate version of that team--Harrellson, Cousins, Knight, Liggins, former UK star Ravi Moss, former Butler University star Shelvin Mack, and former Morehead State star Kenneth Faried--will take the floor at the Sportscenter this Sunday October 23rd. Ironically, Mack and Faried will be on Laettner's Villain team the following Monday. The Big Blue All-Stars games exist to raise money for charity. Shepherd's idea is a thing of genius. Hitting Big Blue Nation where they live by giving them an opportunity to see former beloved players back in action is a perfect way to raise cash.
