Does Hill View Farms Meats in Owensboro Sell Hamburgers?

Owensboro Burger Week 2024 is coming up March 1st through March 9th. For the fourth consecutive year, Hill View Farms Meats is a sponsor of the wildly popular event, which features about 40 local restaurants creating and serving $7 burgers to compete for the grand prize and title of Best Burger in Owensboro! In fact, several participating restaurants are using beef patties from Hill View Farm Meats.

To celebrate the kickoff of Owensboro Burger Week, Hill View owner Jim Gilles has cooked up a delicious 6 Cheese Burger Melt that you can try at home.

Here's how to make it!

6 CHEESE BURGER MELT

2 slices of fresh sourdough bread

2 6-ounce Hill View Farms Hamburger Patties

2 slices thick cut Hill View Farms Bacon

1/4 cup each grated or shredded cheese (Red River Rat Beer Cheese, Country View Spicy Chipotle, Mild Cheddar, Southern Gem Cheddar, Garlic Cheddar and Boone Creek Creamery White Cheddar)

2 tablespoons of FDKY Kentucky Sweet BBQ Sauce

1 stick of butter

Tablespoon of olive oil

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1/2 cup Worchestershire sauce

DIRECTIONS:

1) Mix Worchestershire sauce and minced garlic and marinate burger patties in sauce for 30 minutes.

2) Cook burgers to desired temperature. Season with salt and pepper while cooking.

3) Melt 1/4 cup of butter and olive oil in a shallow pan or skillet.

4) Butter one side of each of the sourdough slices and place butter side down in hot skillet. Butter second side while first side toasts.

5) Flip bread halfway through.

6) Spread beer cheese on up side of sourdough bread slices.

7) Place burger patty on one of the slices, top with bacon, a drizzle of BBQ sauce and a portion of each of the cheeses. Place the other bread slice on top.

8) As cheese melts, flip the entire sandwich. May have to do this once or twice to get all the cheese melted and keep the bread from getting too toasty.

9) Once the cheese has melted to your liking, remove from heat, rest for two minutes and serve!
