A Day in the Country — July 18, 2011 — Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Rodney Atkins

On this date three years ago, Garth Brooks made a surprise appearance at Shea Stadium in New York. It was for a Billy Joel concert and the final night at that. Now, Billy wrote one of Garth's huge hits, "Shameless" and they performed it together.

Wow, Eric Church has been around five years now. It was this day in 2006 his album "Sinners Like Me" came out.

And, on that same date, Rodney Atkins first album, "If You're Going Through Hell", debuted.
