Annabel, Steve Bridgmon, Dakota, Santa Headline Christmas Wish Fundraiser in Owensboro, Kentucky

Tomorrow is the BIG day and we are so excited. Annabel Whitledge, Steve Bridgmon, Dakota Hayden, and Santa are the headliners for the Christmas Wish Cruise-In and Toy Drive happening this Saturday at Applebee's in Owensboro. Meet the performers and some of the amazing auction items!

When we had to cancel the 2020 Christmas Wish fundraiser it was so sad. Everyone was excited about the celebration and raising money to help tri-state families. Because of the pandemic, it wasn't to be. It was a huge financial hit for the non-profit. Well, things are about to change as we gear up for a bigger fundraiser this year!

WBKR Christmas Wish Fundraiser

Grab your family and friends for a day of fun! The 2021 Annual Christmas Wish Fundraiser will happen on Saturday, November 20th, 2021. Come out to Applebee's in Owensboro from 11 AM until 4 PM. Plan on live music, great food, amazing auction items, a cakewalk, and more! Santa will be arriving from the North Pole at 12 o'clock for photos and to talk to the kiddos. We sure hope that you can make it. 100% of all the proceeds go directly to families in need this holiday season. We couldn't do it without our amazing sponsors. Live Music at the Fundraiser

Starting at 11:00, Annabel Whitledge will perform, and you're in for a treat. I've followed Annabel for years and she's one heck of a songwriter, singer, and performer. After the success of her debut album, she's in the studio recording a new record. Last year she won the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for songwriting with her single 'No Strings', which is also the title of the debut album. Annabel has performed on some of the biggest stages all over the tri-state, Nashville, and beyond. Opening for some major country artists as well. Her star is on the rise and we're just fortunate that she'll be at the event on Saturday playing for us.

Steve Bridgmon will blow the roof off of Applebee's beginning at 12:00. He will be kicking off his 2021 Christmas Tour at the Christmas Wish Fundraiser, and we're beyond excited. His tour has stops in Michigan to Nashville, and everywhere in between this holiday season. His latest single, Jesus Loves Me recently rose to #1 on Contemporary Christian Radio, and it's just one of his many big hits. Steve is currently writing an autobiography and is working on new music. His inspiring life, deep-rooted faith, and amazing voice are something that you won't want to miss!

What can I say about the talented Dakota Hayden? The last two years have been a whirlwind for this young singer-songwriter. In January 2020, he won a prestigious award being crowned as the winner of "Shine", a huge YouTube competition based on writing, music, and talent. That win, along with other factors, drove him to Nashville where he is currently recording his debut album. An album that will showcase many of his original songs. Dakota never misses an opportunity to perform when asked and has a jam-packed schedule of upcoming events. Over the summer he even opened for the Kentucky Headhunters which is one of my favorite bands. I haven't seen him perform in a while, so I'm super excited. Dakota will take the stage at 1:00.

Silent Auction

If you want to do some early Christmas shopping, there will be some amazing silent auction items up for grabs. We're loaded up with the good stuff, from gift cards, gift baskets, home decor, name-brand items, and more! AND, how does a 3 Day/2 Night vacation in a Deluxe Cabin in Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge compliments of Patriot Getaways sound? Yep! That will be up for grabs as well.

Car and Bike Cruise-In at the Fundraiser

It's going to be a great day when classic cars, bikes, jeeps, and trucks pull into Applebee's in Owensboro. I just love the roar of the engines and hanging out with fellow classic car enthusiasts. All years makes, and models of the hottest classic cars, trucks, and bikes in town will be all around. Whether you want to show off your classic car, or you just want to check out the best vintage vehicles in town, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at the fundraiser.
