In my family, the Christmas morning tradition was simple. Presents, then breakfast. That breakfast was my mom's recipe for cinnamon rolls. They were amazing and a long-standing family ritual.

Jim Gilles, from Hill View Farms Meats in Owensboro, has a similar family tradition and, this year, he's serving it up with a twist. Jim recently found a recipe on TikTok and adapted it to feature some products he stocks at his farm store.

APPLE & CINNAMON ROLL CASSEROLE

4 small cans of cinnamon rolls

1 16oz True Kentucky Apple Pie Filling

1 ¼ cup heavy cream

4 tablespoons softened butter

½ cup flour

¼ cup instant oats

½ cup brown sugar

1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon

To prepare the casserole:

1. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish

2. Cut pre-made cinnamon rolls into ¼ pieces and scatter across the bottom of your baking dish

3. Pour apple pie filling over cut rolls

4. Pour cream over filling and rolls

5. Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight, to allow cream to soak into rolls

To prepare the streusel topping:

1. Mix softened butter, flour, oats, sugar and cinnamon until a dry crumb topping forms.

2. Refrigerate until casserole is baked.

To assemble the completed dish:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Top refrigerated casserole with pre-made streusel topping

3. Bake casserole for 45 minutes

4. Once casserole is finished baking, in a separate bowl combine cream cheese topping from cinnamon roll cans. Add a dash of cinnamon and stir to combine. Drizzle all of the topping over the hot casserole.

5. Serve and enjoy!
