Beautiful Tennessee Mountain Lodge Is Made for Holiday Getaways — See Photos
I have never been away from home at Christmastime. I've only ever been away from home one time on Thanksgiving (an awesome family trip to Dallas for a Turkey Day Cowboys game). So, yes, I'm pretty much a homebody when it comes to the holidays.
But that doesn't mean I wouldn't welcome the opportunity to see what the rest of the world looks like on December 25th. I've never even taken a drive to another NEARBY city or town on Christmas Day. That feels weird.
WHO'S UP FOR A BIG MOUNTAIN HOLIDAY GETAWAY?
One day--not this year--I plan on changing that. And, who knows? I may be able to talk a whole bunch of people into joining me. Great big lodges in the mountains are made for way more than just two people.
Skyriver Falls in Pigeon Forge is just such a lodge. It features six bedrooms, seven and a half baths, and sleeps 26 people. So yes, bring the family, your friends, THEIR friends, the neighbors, the mailman, your podiatrist. There's room for everyone.
SKYRIVER FALLS
How spectacular is that? It gives me Yellowstone vibes, but I don't know why. It IS in east Tennessee, after all.
GET AWAY FROM IT ALL IN PIGEON FORGE
But Skyriver Falls is a property from Pigeon Forge TN Cabins and touts just about everything you'd need for a week's worth of decompressing and self-care--unbeatable mountain views, a hot tub, an indoor pool with multiple levels, and unbeatable mountain views.
Oh, did I mention that already? Sorry. It's my favorite.
If you want to dine on the deck and look out over the magnificent Great Smoky Mountain National Park, you'd be all set.
Honestly, if I did this, I'd never leave that deck, unless it was to take a swim or sleep. But that dream is for another day. Right now, I invite you virtually "look around" Skyriver Falls.
