You know what happens when you carve out some time to write about cookies? Yes, that's exactly right. You want cookies. And you want them like Cookie Monster wants them--complete with a guttural growl while smashing them into my face.

That bad.

If you ask me what my favorite cookie is, I will immediately shout out oatmeal raisin. But then I'll think about it and realize the world only got BETTER when someone decided to mix chocolate chips into the batter. And then there are sugar cookies at Christmas...oh I have to stop. I can't keep going on about cookies when I have important cookie BUSINESS at hand.

The Best Cookie Shop in America

In 2023--and I looked; there was no such award in '24--the USA Today published its annual Readers Choice poll. They get that ball rolling early every year, exhorting us to vote in a number of categories.

Please & Thank You Cookie Shop

The publication's most recent spotlight on the nation's best cookie shops yielded positive bi-state results for Kentucky and Indiana. Please & Thank You has locations in both Louisville and Indianapolis, so the Bluegrass State and the Hoosier State get to share the brass ring. Let's take a closer look atthis award-winning cookie oasis:

The rest of the "best of"--should you decide to devote an entire trip to cookies--is spread out all across the United States. So maybe if you happen to BE in Philadelphia or New York City on the east coast or in Albuquerque or San Diego out west, just keep the list handy and treat yourself. You'll be on vacation, for crying out loud.

As for me? I don't need a special occasion to eat a good cookie, Please & Thank You.
