The Battle of the Banjos continues and an Owensboro, KY band has made it to the Top 5!  Voting is underway and they need your help to make the Final 3. Here's what they're 'playing' for.

The Earl Scruggs Music Festival takes place September 4th through the 6th (Labor Day Weekend) in Mill Spring, North Carolina. This year's three-day event is headlined by names like The Avett Brothers, The Del McCoury Band, Béla Fleck, and dozens of other artists and acts. The Battle of the Banjos gives aspiring and rising bands the chance to earn a spot on stage and in the lineup. The Blue Bridge Boys- from right here in the Tristate- have played their way into that Top 5.

The Battle of the Banjos official website says:

After an incredible round of submissions from rising bluegrass, Americana, and roots artists, we’re narrowing it down. These finalists represent the next generation of pickers, players, and storytellers — and one will earn a spot on the festival lineup.

There's no doubt that The Blue Bridge Boys certainly fit that bill. They are indeed generational talents and would love to showcase their brand of bluegrass at The Earl Scruggs Music Festival.

They're currently sharing space in the Top 5 with four other bands: Redbud Bluegrass, Strings of Green, The Folk Villains, and Billy Fortune Unit. Voting to help determine the Top 3 is underway now and runs through Thursday, May 28th! If The Blue Bridge Boys fight their way into that Top 3, they'll travel to Mills River on Saturday, June 6th for a live playoff at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.

Then, following that live showcase, voting for the grand prize will take place near the end of June!
