Wednesday night was an incredible night at Buffalo Wild Wings at Towne Square North in Owensboro.  The restaurant unveiled a brand new, permanent fixture just above the main entrance.  The restaurant is displaying the Apollo Eagles football jersey of Taylor Widmer, a local high school student who was tragically killed in a car accident last August.  Here's video of the official dedication that took place before hundreds of family and friends.  What an amazing night!

Wednesday, May 13th was declared Taylor Widmer Memorial Scholarship Fund Day and portions of proceeds from the day's sales at the restaurant are going directly to that fund.  And the restaurant was PACKED!  In fact, we were told by Team Captain Travis that the store had 50 to-go orders before it opened this morning. And, when I arrived at 5pm this evening for the dedication, there was a 2-hour wait for a table.  The community truly rallied behind Taylor and his family and came together to celebrate his life and legacy.

And that legacy will continue.  Buffalo Wild Wings announced tonight, immediately following the dedication of Taylor's jersey, that each May 13th will be Taylor Widmer Day at the Buffalo Wild Wings' Owensboro location.

Amazing young man.  Amazing tribute!  And an amazing and powerful celebration of someone taken way too soon.
