I had a great time yesterday hanging with 2nd-5th grade students at Highland Elementary School.  It was Leaders in the Workplace Day and various community members and business owners were on hand to meet with students and talk about their careers.  I met with four different groups of students and had each one do a "live" break on the air during The Barb Show.  The students loved hearing themselves on the air and, naturally, we rocked out some selfies too!

The first group of the day!  Notice the kid in the middle of the top row.   He was quite a scene-stealer . . .

Highland Elementary hosts Leaders in the Workplace Day annually to give their students a look into the workforce.  Of course, Highland is also a proud Leader in Me School and focuses on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Students.  Those habits are as follows . . .

Habit #1- Be Proactive

Habit #2- Begin with the End in Mind

Habit #3- Put First Things First

Habit #4- Think Win-Win

Habit #5- Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood

Habit #6- Synergize

Habit #7- Sharpen the Saw- balancing life with time for inner peace, exercise, fun, etc.

I want to send a personal shout out to Laura McCain, Highland's Guidance Counselor.  She invited WBKR to be a part of the event.  We wouldn't have missed it.
