Changes Made, Subway Out and Claire’s In at Hwy 54 Walmart

If you haven't visited Walmart on Hwy 54 in a while, some changes have been made. Claire's added a second location in Owensboro and Subway has closed. What restaurant would you like to see take its place?

I've done grocery pick-up since March so yesterday was the first time that I stepped into Walmart in person. The first thing that I noticed was that Claire's opened up a new store. Claire's has stores inside Walmart locations all across the country, so this didn't come as a huge surprise. Young girls will be so happy to shop for jewelry, hair bows, makeup sets and more. I did talk to the store manager and the Claire's location inside of the Towne Square Mall is staying. They just wanted to add a second location to Owensboro. She also added that they are hiring for part-time, 3rd key manager positions and that they have a big clearance sale happening at the mall location. I was told that I really needed to stop by for Christmas Wish and take advantage of the bargains. Sorry Mom and Dad, now when you go grocery shopping, you can hear your little girl begging to get her ears pierced the entire time. You know that I'm right!

As I was leaving the store, I saw that Subway had closed while I was in quarantine. I used to love grabbing a meatball sub for dinner after shopping for groceries. I just wonder what could take its place? How about a second Chick-fil-A location in Owensboro? Maybe a new Panera Bread or Papa John's. The kids would love a McDonald's in this location. They can eat their happy meal while you shop. Oh, I know, a Ben's Pretzel would fit the bill for sure. So many great options. What restaurant would you like to see take its place?
