Christmas in This Kentucky Town is Like Stepping Into a Hallmark Movie
Leitchfield, Kentucky was recently named one of the Best Christmas towns in Kentucky that will fill your heart with Holiday cheer by Only in Your State.
Here is what they had to say about the quaint little town in Grayson County,
"Leitchfield, Kentucky, offers a central location between Rough River Lake and Nolin Lake for outdoor enjoyment. And during the holiday season, experience the festive Light Up Leitchfield, a magical drive through James Beville City Park adorned with Christmas lights all December. Join the Annual Christmas on the Square event for shopping, delicious food, hot drinks, and Santa photos. Don't miss the Christmas Parade!"
I know firsthand the hospitality of folks in Leitchfield. Growing up, I visited family there in the summers and for holidays. I love going to their festivals and parades because they go all out!
December 2nd will be a big day at the Leitchfield Town Square as Grayson County gears up for Hometown Christmas Shop the Square and the Annual Christmas Parade. As I said, Grayson County knows how to do a parade, so you won't want to miss out on the awesome floats created for this year's theme "Songs of Christmas." After the parade, Santa will kick off Shop the Square.
When I was there for the Clarkson Honeyfest, we walked around for hours checking out the goods of the local vendors. So many creative and talented makers with a variety of products like jewelry, clothing, freeze-dried candy, and these sinful bacon cracklins that I still dream about.
I can't wait to go back and shop for Christmas with those vendors and the stores around the square. Carolers will be singing and Santa will hop off his float for pictures and to negotiate that Christmas wish list. Be sure to come hungry and enjoy the food vendors. Lots of good bar-b-que and delicious sides.
