Christmas Movie Shooting in Madisonville This Week — Extras Needed

It was back in the spring of 2022 when we learned Orlando Bloom was filming a new thriller in a handful of small Kentucky towns. Red Right Hand, released last February, is a thriller co-starring Andie MacDowell. While that news, in and of itself, was very exciting, it was the presence of Bloom's significant other, pop superstar Katy Perry, that got online tongues wagging.

But it also brought into full focus--if you'll pardon the pun--the Kentucky Entertainment Incentive which has been a boon to filmmakers looking for authentic shooting locations without breaking the budget. The KEI's tax break has been luring more and more Hollywood auteurs to the Commonwealth over the last few years, and it doesn't look as if that will slow down.

Ethan Hawke capitalized on the KEI and shot his Wildcat in Louisville and Shelbyville, among other locales. And in early 2023, Lifetime descended upon Somerset for a series of Christmas movies.

Well, 'tis the season, and another holiday film is being shot in the Bluegrass State. This time, it's happening in Madisonville where extras are being requested to audition for a film called The Christmas Pitch. Background actors will take part in the local shoot which begins Wednesday, December 4th and will wrap on Sunday, December 8th.

No acting experience is required; meals will be provided; and participants will receive a film credit. All ages and genders are welcome and must email christmaspitch@gmail.com and include the subject line "Background Actor Submission - Madisonville”.
