Churchill Downs Building New Racing Facility Outside of Hopkinsville (PHOTO)

Just under two years ago Churchill Downs broke the news they were proposing two new racing facilities in Kentucky.  The broke ground just yesterday on the facility right outside of Hopkinsville

The actually facility will be located in Oak Grove, Ky right over the line from Clarksville, Tn.

According to Tristate Homepage;

Planned are up to 1,500 historical racing machines beginning next year, a 125-room hotel, a 1,200-seat grandstand and event space for indoor events, a 3,000-person outdoor amphitheater and stage and a state-of-the-art equestrian center including indoor and outdoor arenas.

Angel Here.  When I heard the news of the new facility I was super excited because I practically grew up in Oak Grove, Kentucky.  It is absolutely beautiful in Oak Grove and full of farmland.

Starting in October there will be 12 live racing dates for the new facility.
