As COVID-19 continues to bare down on many in the workforce those who work in the Restaurant/Bar industry have taken a hard hit all year long.  The City of Owensboro wants to help in a time of great need.

They are offering a program that will help to supplement the pay of the employees that work in these types of jobs in the Owensboro area.  The program is called The OBKY Restaurant/Bar Supplemental Payroll Program.

Now this doesn't mean the City will be paying lost wages directly to those people who have lost work due to COVID-19.  A restaurant or bar owner/manager can apply for these funds which they can then use to distribute to their employees.  The money granted can only be used for those who are currently on the payroll.

If you are a Restaurant/Bar owner and think you might want to apply for this relief program for the City of Owensboro here are the things you will need;

For further questions or information anyone interested can email restaurantassitance@owensboro.org or call 270-687-8321 or 270-687-5600.

All forms must be received no later than Friday, January 15.

The City of Owensboro has been actively working throughout the pandemic to help those who have been impacted.  From the Small Business Grants of up to $2,500.  They also offered the Rental Assistance Program which provided up to three months rent to those in need.  Both of these programs launched in May of 2020.
