Support Special Olympics While Decorating A Kentucky State Police Car
It's the one time of year that you can graffiti a Kentucky State Police cruiser and not get handcuffed, arrested, and thrown into jail. Yes! It's nearly time to Cover the Cruiser.
For the 17th consecutive year, the Kentucky State Police are raising money for Special Olympics and they're doing it with their popular Cover the Cruiser event, which takes place at various locations around the Commonwealth and gives supporters of SOKY the opportunity to buy stickers and plaster them on a KSP cruiser.
Last year, KSP's Cover the Cruiser event helped raise $8500 statewide. $2200 of that was raised right here in Owensboro-Daviess County at Audubon Federal Credit Union. Audubon will again be hosting this year's fundraiser, which is set for the third Friday in April.

Corey King, who will be representing the Kentucky State Police at the Audubon rally, says, "I always prefer to beat previous numbers, but $1500 or greater would be ideal."
Cindy Tong, who is the Community/CCU Financial Counselor at Audubon Federal Credit Union, says she and the staff are gearing up for the big day too. The Center plans to be on hand as will Jennifer Higdon with KYNECT. Plus, the Flavor Me Crazy food truck will be on site too.
Audubon's Cover the Cruiser event will take place from 10:30am to 1pm on Friday, April 17th. You're invited to stop by and show your support for our area Special Olympic athletes by purchasing as many stickers as you want. They are just $1 a piece and all proceeds benefit Special Olympics Kentucky.
Audubon Federal Credit Union is located at 1429 Breckinridge Street in Owensboro.
