Daviess County Detention Center To Offer Enhanced Programming For Female Inmates

The Daviess County Detention Center has several programs for male inmates while they are incarcerated.  Jailer Art Maglinger has been working on partnerships with the community organization to enhance programming for the female population.

Jailer Maglinger also said that female inmates have the opportunity currently to participate in MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy)This is an evidence-based program that is designed to alter how the offender thinks, how they make judgments and decisions about the right and wrong thing to do in critical situations and to promote actions and behaviors focused on changing negative relationships. The program is conducted as a group session that is broken down into 16 steps with each inmate progressing at their own pace. It is conducted by a contract moderator 24 weeks.  Inmates who successfully complete the program will be eligible to receive a 90 day goodtime credit.

They have Celebrate Recovery as well.  Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind.

The Daviess County Detention Center works diligently to continually offer the programming needed to educate and equip inmates with what they need to -make a smooth transition back into the community.
