Daviess County Detention Center

Angel here! This past weekend I was locked up for 13 hours behind bars at the Daviess County Detention Center. It was quite a different experience than you might think-->

Owensboro is so very blessed with the most amazing law enforcement around. Last night the Back To School Shop with a Cop took place and to say it was incredible would be an understatement!

While many churchgoers were having regularly scheduled Sunday morning service one Owensboro church left their building to have church with the Daviess County Detention Center Inmates-->

The Daviess County Detention Center has several programs for male inmates while they are incarcerated. Jailer Art Maglinger has been working on partnerships with the community organization to enhance programming for the female population.

Daviess County Jailer, Art Maglinger, has been in law enforcement since he was 22 years old. He's personally witnessed the effects of drug addiction on our community and is sharing his experience with us.

Deputy Burns and his crew help Christmas Wish every year so we're super excited that he was recognized this week for his community service work. Well deserved!
