Daviess County, KY Veterans Can Adopt Adorable Shelter Animals for Free

The most overlooked animals at the shelter have a chance for a new loving home. Local military veterans have a chance for a furever companion. Daviess County Animal Care & Control is providing free cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens adoptions to assist in the beautiful process. A veteran should never suffer from loneliness, especially around the holidays.

It's important to honor our area veterans. Whether you attend a parade, spend time with a veteran, or learn about their service and sacrifice, there are many ways we all can become connected to a veteran. This is a way a veteran can be connected to a precious pet, and my animal-loving heart is here for it!

FREE PET ADOPTIONS FOR DAVIESS COUNTY VETERANS

The Daviss County Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for veterans from November 11th to November 15th, 2023. There is a limit of two animals per household. You can contact the Shelter with any questions at 270-685-8275 or email dcacanimals@yahoo.com.

Becoming a shelter volunteer is a great way to give back and help save lives. I saw this posted on their social media page and wanted to help get the word out.

WAYS TO DONATE TO THE DAVIESS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER

Don't forget that the shelter always needs donations. Beyond monetary donations, you can always drop off dog or cat food. Cat litter, dog beds, food/water dishes, treats, along with towels and blankets. You can always reach out to the shelter to see what's needed the MOST at any given moment. You can mail a check directly to the shelter.

The Daviess County Animal Shelter receives thousands of animals annually. Some of them are returned to their owners, and some find new homes, but unfortunately, some are never placed in a home.

This is why it is so important that these animals find new homes. If you are interested in adopting a pet, stop by the shelter! They have cats and dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and colors.

All adoption fees include spaying or neutering your pet at a local veterinarian.
