So, this is a thing and has been for a while.  However, I had absolutely no idea until I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday and saw a post from my friend Curt..  How on Earth did I miss this?  Did you know that Enviro-Log created and sold fireplace logs inspired by Colonel Sanders himself.  It's the KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog which is "designed to make your home smell like fried chicken."  Whoa!  What????

Okay, full confession.  When I was a kid, I freaking loved KFC and I was obsessed with their buckets of chicken.  Seriously!  Remember that?  Was there anything better than taking the top off a bucket of KFC and smelling those 11 herbs and spices rolling out with the steam.  Uh, negative.  It was the BEST!

I don't know for sure, but this could possibly be second best.  According to the manufacturers, the KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog "may result in a craving for fried chicken."  Since it burns for an estimated 2 1/2 to 3 hours, that's hours of craving a big old bite of KFC's original recipe.

But does it really work?  Well, I surfed YouTube and found a couple of test runs.  The woman in this video noted that she could smell chicken as soon as she opened the box.

As you can see, while the actual box really smelled like fried chicken, this user said the burning log didn't all that much.  Oh, she also mentioned these are available at Walmart.  I checked.  They're completely sold out at $15.98 a piece.

For a second opinion on the actual smell, check this out!

Well, okay, now I am REALLY asking, "Chad, where have you been?"  According to these guys, the KFC log was first introduced in 2018.  They sold out.  The company made even more for 2019 and those sold out in 36 hours.  Now, the logs are incredibly difficult to get.  I mentioned above that you can no longer order them from Walmart.com, but I did find some for sale on Ebay.  But, they're not cheap.   Here are a few Ebay listings for you.

For instance, dailysaverz is selling their remaining two KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelogs for $29.99 a piece.

Stuffandthingsok has over ten of them in stock, but they're a little pricier.  They are $39.95 a piece.

The cheapest one I found comes from Ebay seller dantimmer.  It's just $20, but the shipping cost is $15+.
