I was off last week and spent several hours climbing down the rabbit hole of the internet.  LOL!  My searches usually involve travel, tennis, New York City, Broadway, politics, the Olympics and any kind of extreme activity I can find.  A couple of days ago, a search led to this- a story on Travel + Leisure called The Best Roller Coasters Around the World.  Okay, I'm on a mission now.  Here are some of my favorites from the list.  Take a look and let me know.  Are you with me?

This is Formula Rossa.  Located at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, it's billed as the World's Fastest Coaster. In fact, it launches from 0 to 149 mph in just four seconds.  And, yes!  You read that correctly.  It goes 149 miles per hour!

Then there's Kingda Ka, which is located much closer to us.  LOL!  It's the marquee coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. I rode a similar ride called Superman: Escape from Krypton at Six Flags Magic Mountain just above Los Angeles.  Though the rides are similar, this monster does what Superman doesn't do.  It send the coaster up and over the top of the structure.

If you love coasters that go upside down (I definitely do), check out The Smiler at Alton Towers in the United Kingdom.  This thing throws you for a loop even before it gets to the lift hill.  As a matter of fact, it has a world record FOURTEEN inversions!

And it's no secret that some of the craziest thrill rides in the world are in Japan.  Check out this thing!  It's one of the craziest roller coaster designs I have ever seen and it looks like it guarantees one of the zaniest rides too.  It's called Takabisha- the World's Steepest Roller Coaster!

And here's one more from Japan!  It's called Do-Dodonpa.  Located at the same park Takabisha is, this launch coaster features the fastest acceleration of any coaster in the world.  It goes from 0 to 112 miles per hour in just 1.56 seconds.  Whoa!  What??  Take a look.

So, what do you think?  Would YOU ride these coasters?  Also, if you have ridden an awesome coaster somewhere, let us know about it!
