Does Driving Behind a Log Truck Make You Nervous?
It seems like I can't escape this particular phenomenon (my term for it) when I'm on the road. Even if it's a short road trip.
My mother, a retired nurse, has told me stories time and time again about horrible accidents that have happened because of unsecured log trucks.
I've always had those.
Then, the second Final Destination movie was released and it was reinforced. You remember the second one? It wasn't very good, but EVERYone remembers the traffic pile-up in the movie AND that log truck.
Please, don't get me wrong. I'm not throwing log trucks and their drivers under the bus, so to speak.
They have to make a living just like the rest of us and wood has to get from there to here or vice versa. It just has to.
But I can't help feeling uneasy every time I get behind one of them. And I get behind one of them every single time I drive any sort of distance away from home.
Never fails.
So I call it a phenomenon and I wonder how many others feel the same way.
Safe travels to all on this Memorial Day Weekend.
