Dollywood Bakery Serves Up Massive 25-Pound Apple Pie
I know this time of year, everyone is crazy about pumpkin-flavored everything. Coffee, donuts, cookies...we even featured a Pumpkin Pasta Bake on our What's Cookin' Morning Show segment this past Monday. (It was delicious, by the way.)
While I love a good ole PSL to kick off the fall season, my favorite "autumn flavor" is actually apple. Give me some Reid's Apple Cider any day of the week! The other day, I saw a video of the prettiest apple pie I've ever seen. It also happens to be one of the biggest I've ever seen.
Not counting those record-setting pies like the one baked in Indiana at the Mt Zion Church and Apple Festival, of course. This pie I'm talking about is made at a bakery in Tennessee, and the Queen of Country Music herself is responsible. Although nothing could be sweeter than Dolly, the 25-pound apple pie on the menu at Spotlight Bakery looks amazing.

Here's a fun video about how it is made:
Baked in that cast-iron skillet? You know that crust is flaky and delicious. It takes 40-50 apples for just one pie. Created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Dollywood at a pound per year, it was so well-loved that it has become a permanent fixture. I wanted to find out how much this bad boy is and came across this video:
Ok, genius idea to make it à la mode! So, his one slice was $30, which is apparently so large that it can feed up to four people. A whole 25-pound apple pie is $230. You can also call the bakery and have one shipped straight to your house.
Would you pay $230 for a 25-pound apple pie?
