Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family were discharged from the hospital after suffering minor injuries in Thursday afternoon's crash near Bristol. The FAA has released its report on the crash.

The Cessna 688A experienced a hard landing, bounced, departed the runway and caught fire at Elizabethton Municipal Airport. The NTSB is still gathering facts at this stage and they would not draw any conclusions in their part of the investigation.

It was confirmed all the passengers were able to evacuate the aircraft before the fire ignited. The NTSB says the fire started 1-2 minutes post-crash.

Earnhardt Jr. will be taking some time off with his family as he was scheduled to be in the broadcast booth for Saturday's Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. NBC Sports expects to have him back for Darlington in two weeks.
