Floating Casino to Travel Past Owensboro En Route to Newport

On my trip to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore in 2011, I drove through Sioux City, Iowa and noticed a huge floating casino. However, I didn't have time to stop. I'd already been delayed enough, as it was.

It was the Argosy Casino. Very cool. And I was VERY tempted to stop.

Now, I'll be able to see it again. You will too when it makes its move to Covington this week.

It's being towed from a shipyard in Illinois.

The casino is enormous, and the captain--who spoke with Covington's River City News--says that the barge--operated by BB Riverboats--is about three times the size of the company's current facility, currently moored in Newport.

In January, the barge will move to its permanent location IN Newport.

Sounds like a road trip to me!
