Flu Cases Back on the Rise in Kentucky
You know the old saying, "You gotta take the bad with the good?" Such is the case with an unseasonably warm winter.
I'm no expert, but it always seems like flu season is worse when we get warm weather in the wintertime.
Right now, as I write this, we're enjoying sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s. And, yes, I'm guilty of having a little spring fever.
But others are having far worse types of fever.
WKYT/Lexington reports on a study from the Kentucky Department for Public Health that says that more than 1,700 flu cases were reported in Kentucky from January 19th through the 25th.
The KDPH goes on to say that there have been 33 deaths in Kentucky this season as a result of the flu.
Just keep washing your hands with hot soap and water; keep hand sanitizer handy; and, by all means, if you have any symptoms, STAY HOME.
