‘Fridgescaping’ is the Newest Home Decor Trend and We Just Don’t Get it
I'm as extra as they come, but this new home decor trend has me scratching my head. It is called Fridgescaping and my Tiktok feed is full of videos with folks, mainly women, giving tours of their refrigerators.
We're not talking about just "Here's the milk" and "Here's the veggies." These videos feature fancy tableaus with aesthetic storage and even decor items. Picture frames, baskets, and vases of flowers are all arranged perfectly among the groceries.
And the Fridgescaping enthusiasts wouldn't DARE put their gallon of milk on the shelf in the original jug. It has to be poured into a beautiful pitcher that matches the rest of the decor. Some people even decorate with a certain theme in mind, for the holidays or favorite movies or TV shows. 'Fridgerton' anyone? Now, that one is fancy schmancy like the refrigerator was invited to be the Diamond at a Bridgerton Ball!
@lynziliving Annnnnndddd I have a new theme coming next week that I’m super excited about! I cannot wait! #fridgescaping #fridgescape #kitchendecor #fridgeorganization #fridgedecor #kitchenorganization ♬ Sugar Foot Stomp - The Benny Goodman Orchestra
Now, I am NEVER one to kill someone's vibe. If it makes you happy and doesn't hurt nobody, you do you, Boo! I just don't understand spending the time and energy it would take to do this every grocery trip. By the time I go and walk around for an hour, load all the bags, and then unload the bags the last thing I want to do is arrange everything in a visually appealing way. I usually don't even feel like cooking after a grocery trip.
I am going to guess that people who Fridgescape consider decorating their home a hobby? Maybe my schedule is too busy for this to interest me. Or maybe it's the fact that I have a husband and son that would immediately wreck it all. Where do the leftovers fit in? I'm supposed to take my eggs out of the carton and put them into another "cuter" carton? What about the ketchup or our extensive sauce collection? SO many questions.

I will say it looks really cool, and I'm impressed with folks who can keep it up. Have you tried Fridgescaping? What do you think about this new trend?
