Halloween’s Over and These Kentuckians Have Already Put Up Their Christmas Trees
Ron and Eric Ebling of Owensboro love holidays and they're pretty much professionals at celebrating a wide variety of them. Over the weekend, they hosted their annual Halloween party.
One day after rocking out those incredible 2023 Halloween costumes, they moved swiftly from the spirits of Halloween to the Christmas spirit. After their Halloween party on October 28th, THIS went up on Sunday, the 29th!
This has become an Ebling household tradition. As a matter of fact, though they entertained trick-or-treaters on Halloween, the couple were multi-tasking and trying to finish out their Christmas tree!
Ron says he started working to decorate the tree at 7am Halloween morning, "But it's done" and he's "going to be staring at it for at least three months." Heck! They've already sent out invitations to their annual Christmas party, which is set for mid-December. The social media invites have already been digitally delivered.
As it turns out, the Eblings aren't the only folks here in western Kentucky who are already decking their halls.
Jeniffer and Matt Brown don't normally get a jump start on the Christmas season, but did this year. Jeniffer snapped this pic over the weekend and shared it with the caption "My lil Christmas Elf."
Jeniffer says that putting up the Christmas trees is usually a "Thanksgiving weekend gig." However, this year, her daughter isn't coming home for Thanksgiving and her son's going to be at his dad's for the majority of the weekend. So, Jeniffer and Matt decided to go ahead and add some Yuletide cheer to the household.
Monday night, the day before Halloween, they spent the evening fluffing their trees for the porch, as well as their wreaths and garland for the outside of the house. However, Jeniffer said they're "waiting till after trick-or-treaters to put those out." Well, Halloween's in the books, so it's Christmas crunch time.
That's exactly how Alex Carlton of Madisonville thinks. As soon as her evening of trick-or-treating wrapped up on Halloween, she and the family immediately put up their Christmas tree.
Alex shared, "The hard part is done! Did I stay up all night? Yes. Do I still have more to do this afternoon? Yes. Do I need coffee in my life right now? Absolutely. Do I have Christmas coffee creamer waiting this EXACT moment? Duh!"
Alex has another dear friend, Karen Kurtz, who didn't even bother to wait for Halloween to wrap. The Kurtz household reportedly has had FIVE Christmas trees up for a week already. In Alex's words, "Apparently, I'm behind."
And Josh Cook of Owensboro shared these pics last night!
As you can see, there are a couple of different trees in that photo. So far, there are four up in the Cook home and counting. Josh says, "We got the two big ones done, our travel tree and one of the boys got his up as well."
Here's that 'travel tree.'
That's a fun idea for a Christmas tree. Josh explains the inspiration behind it. "We started the travel tree several years okay. We always look for a local shop in the place we’re visiting and buy a globe ball- usually the city’s name on it."
So, what about you? When do you put your Christmas tree(s) up?
